Alicante Airport Transfers & Taxis
Radio Taxi Elche operate taxis from Alicante airport, and they must be metered by law. All drivers are licensed and insured (for up to €350,000) so it is very safe to use a taxi in Spain. The vehicles they use are quite distinguishable, with a green stripe that traverses the vehicle from the front to the back and a shield of the city of Elche on the front doors.
Most taxi drivers have none or Basic English, so it would be an advantage if have basic Spanish. If you do not, it may be best to write down the address of your location and show it to the driver before you set off, so you do not end up at the wrong place.
The taxi stop is located outside of the arrivals hall on Level 0. Just head straight for the exit and you will see many taxis waiting, but it is well signposted if you are unsure. There are ample taxis available night and day, so if you have to wait, it will be a very rare occasion.
Taxis can take you to the north and south of the Costa Blanca. If you want to go further than that, it will become very expensive and it may be better to take a bus or train.
Popular destinations to the north include: Albufereta, Alfaz del Pi, Alicante, Altea, Benidoleig, Benidorm, Benisa, Cabo Huertas, Calpe, Cap de la Nau, Denia, El Campello, Finestrat, Gata de Gorgos, Javea, L´Albir beach, La Canuta, Moraira, Pedreguer, Pego, Pueblo Acantilado, San Juan beach, Teulada, and Villajoyosa.

Private Transfers from the Airport
Many passengers find the best mode of transport is a private transfer. A private transfer is a pre booked door to door service in a vehicle that suits all your needs. If you have children or are in a large group, taxis may not always be the best option. Taxis, for instance, do not carry child seats, so have a look into private transfers before you make your decision.
A private transfer can take you from the airport to many holiday destinations along the coast such as Albir, Alfaz del Pi, Altea, Benidorm, Calpe, Dénia, Javea, La Manga, Murcia, Moreira and Torrevieja, and you will be together in your group in complete safety.
One of the best companies we can recommend is Shuttle Direct. As a cost example, they offer a private transfer from the airport to Benidorm at a cost of €64.00 for an economy vehicle or €110.00 if you wish to travel in a bit more luxury such as a Mercedes-Benz E Class or Audi A6.
You can check their prices or book by going to www.shuttledirect.com. Anyone who has booked with Shuttle Direct will find the driver, or a representative, waiting for you as you enter the arrivals area, and will then assist you with your luggage to their vehicle which will be located on Level -2. All private transfers depart from this floor.
